Make Do And Mend Craft Fair

As a craft addict and a self appointed shopaholic nothing brings me more joy than craft shopping.
Although I am all for hauling supplies online there is something extra special about getting my hands on all those crafty little treasures in person.
When I got invited to go along to the Make Do And Mend Vintage & Craft Fair I literally squealed a tiny bit!

On Sunday I grabbed the Husband, fashioned some Victory Rolls and headed down the Ageas Bowl to get my shop on!
As soon as we arrived I dived into a hamper of £1 wool and I was in heaven! There were so many cute little stalls filled with all kinds of bits and bobbins for me to lust over.
After 4 beautiful hours in vintage craft heaven I went away with a bin bag full of wool (knitting is my new obsession),a few books to add to my collection and a Kittys Knit Kit (a mini suitcase filled with a vintage pattern and everything you need to complete the pattern).
My lovely little sister also gifted me a Paperchase craft scrapbook for my birthday! All in all it was a very fruitful day for my craft collection. I am very close to being a hoarder but I cant help it if it makes me happy!

*holidays are coming...holidays are coming*

When a hobby becomes an addiction.

There have been many moments in my twenty something years on this planet that I have looked back on knowing that they altered my life significantly. A few of those moments stand out more than most, the first time I listened to the spice girls, discovering my deep love for the royal family and meeting my beloved husband are amongst those. These moments create the person you are set to become.

One of those moments inspired this post...and this blog. The day I discovered crafts.

To those who think that last sentence is odd or perhaps a little frivolous then move along. This blog is not for you.

To those who get a thrill from ordering yarn online at 2am, squeal at the sight of a Pom Pom maker and hoard washi tape like its tinned food during an apocalypse, you are my people.

I believe I was 8 the first time my Mother bought me a cross stitch kit and I fell in love instantly with it and needed more. Fast forward a few *ahem* more years and I have a full blown addiction.

I played with the idea of calling this blog 'crafters support group' but that would imply I want my addiction to end and I don't! I hope to be scrolling Pinterest while loom knitting a bobble hat until I'm 100. I want this blog to become an anecdotal diary of my life alongside my crafty adventures, a place where like minded souls can share my passion for Pom Poms and all things Kirstie Allsopp!
